Mountain Engagement Photos | Colorado Wedding Photographer

Mountain Engagement photos have been on our wishlist for a long time. Perhaps it was foreshadowing our move back to Colorado. Maybe it’s just because we love exploring new parts of the world, wherever they may be. I must say that this region of the Catoctin was one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in a while. We’ve gone on many hikes in this region since and I can highly suggest Catoctin Mountain Park.  Lucky for us, Cate’s parents owned a home in this region so we had tons of space all to ourselves.

Located about 3 hours north of DC this area is known for its apples, and Camp David. The way we got to decide the details of these mountain engagement photos was with a phone call with Cate. On the call, she described some of the couple’s hobbies, interests, and described the land around their house. Lots of trees, rolling hills, and stone ruin all over.

On that phone call, I mentioned to Cate to plan a little picnic and bring anything that would fit the scene. Paul added that he plays the guitar, so we definitely had to add that to the shoot. Props are often the best part of the shoot because they communicate so much about the person we are photographing. I remember these mountain engagement photos being quiet, simple, and a pretty quick shoot. As the best-planned ones often are.
