This DAR DC Wedding is so unique given the fact that there were only 50 guests! The second reason I love this wedding is the New Orleans, Louisiana influence. Intimate weddings are a fast-growing trend that I love. When there are only 50 guests then you get to spoil them much more than usual. My favorite detail about this wedding is that there were 15 members of the band for just fifty guests!
Why were there so many band members? Well, mostly because of the second line! The second line is a New Orleans tradition where the couple walks to their wedding led by their brass band. This couple used the brass band tradition to lead their guests from cocktail hour to the dinner. The dinner table is one long table set for the entire wedding. This long table setup is a beautiful and unique scene at a wedding. But it can make a large group of people feel so intimate.
Another reason I always remember this wedding is because it is my first DAR DC wedding! And lucky us, the bride had loads of lovely and personal details for me to style with. Including a monogramed glass box for their rings, vow books and bright pink Peonies as an accent color. It’s no surprise that it was featured on Washingtonian Weddings.
