The word published is quite important to photographers. For photographers, a publication like Magnolia Rouge is an amazing accomplishment. We actually planned and designed these photoshoots specifically targeted to a blog like Magnolia Rouge.

Even though I’ve been published more times that I can keep track of by now, it’s always a huge highlight. It also signals that we are in touch with current culture and trends. Which are always changing. It’s always a good idea to try to get published a few times so that you know you’re creating a cohesive photo essay. From a wedding perspective, submissions are a great exercise in writing and talking about your photography. The concept for this shoot is inspired by the Neo-classical architecture of Union station.

With our architectural backgrounds, we knew this setting has tons of potential. I did a mini shoot with a friend of mine in the halls of the front arcade. But for the sake of publication, we knew we need to expand on this kernel of an idea. The statues around the building remind me of greek sculptures and our talented florist Jolie made a beautiful floral crown to complement it.

This touches on the most important and fun part of a styled shoot, the collaborators. On this shoot we got to work with some of the industry models, makeup artists and florists that we have been wanting to work with for a long time. Having a trusted team usually makes photo magic.
