I am a Washington, DC based wedding and portrait photographer. Originally, I trained as an architect and graduated from University with a minor in Fine Arts. My architecture background enhances the way I see and frame my subjects. When I'm not working I love to travel and explore. My favorite cities are Copenhagen, Tokyo, and Paris (who doesn't love Paris?). When I’m home, my favorite place in DC is Cady’s Alley in Georgetown. I love poking through the furniture galleries with my wonderful husband, Tom.
As a photographer, my goal is to draw out the moment behind every photograph. I seek to create images that bring tears to your eyes; the kind that make you smile every time you look at the photos and cherish them for a lifetime.
I’m also a trained architect and worked for a well-known DC architecture firm for 6 years. As Bonnie's business partner and director of operations my role is to assist clients and potential clients with the business of photography. You'll probably get a few emails from me, but since I’m a photographer myself you may also see me helping out Bonnie on site at your event or session.
My design style tends toward modern, but I love a classic style as well. My favorite place in DC is the National Portrait Gallery and any one of the many awesome coffee shops in town.
During the week I photograph families, anniversaries, couples, and any other portraits. The ideal time for these photos is a few hours before sunset, and it usually takes 1 hour. Email me directly to schedule a date and time.
Our experience is not only limited to weddings and portraits. Please visit our commercial work portfolio through this link.
I also offer one-on-one mentoring sessions to photographers. Please inquire for further information.
Photographing weddings is my absolute favorite! Capturing the events of a wedding day in a combination of fine-art and photojournalistic style is a challenge that I whole-heartedly embrace. I shoot weddings with both film and digital photography, using a Contax645 for the film and a Canon 5d Mark 3 at night and in dark settings. I provide the high-res images with my packages, and you can expect about 50 images for each hour of coverage. I live in Maryland and have a studio in Bethesda, but if you're looking into a destination wedding I'm all ears!
