Intimate Mountaintop Wedding in Vail Colorado

Vail, Colorado happened to be the location for our first Colorado wedding. This was very fitting as Vail is also our favorite Colorado town! The bride and the groom had a vision for an intimate affair with their families. The families traveled from all over the country for the day but the wedding was clearly always going to be in Vail. Both the bride and the groom have fond memories of vacationing in the quaint mountain town.

The day started very casually as the bride and groom arrived at Vail Interfaith Chapel. The two finished getting ready and we snuck in a few photos before the ceremony. The bride wore a stunning, sleek and simple dress. The groom wore a dark green tuxedo.

After the couple was tucked away and out of sight, the family arrived for the ceremony. The ceremony took place outdoors by the river – a stunning Vail, Colorado wedding location. The chapel is currently going through a renovation and will only be more beautiful in the future. Vintage Magnolia, a local Vail business, decorated the ceremony with lovely florals. The flowers perfectly accented the mountain scene. I have found that intimate ceremonies, like this, are often more emotional and personal than larger weddings as the couples are more open with their emotions in front of a smaller group.

Vail Colorado Wedding Reception

After the ceremony, the couple signed their marriage license and took family photos. The bride and the groom’s families then headed to dinner at the Alpenrose while the couple stayed back for a few more photos. As a result, this allowed the couple to make a grand entrance as they walked up to the patio at the Alpenrose to a very excited audience.

The Alpenrose had to be the venue for the wedding as it is in the family. The new owners of the modern classic Vail Swiss chalet themed restaurant are relatives of the groom’s family. Therefore the team took great care of the couple and their guests. An incredible summer evening finished out the celebration for the couple full of beers, brats, toasts, schnapps and champagne!
