This Destination Philadelphia Engagement story started out the same way that most destination weddings do. The couple lives in Philly, but are getting married in the bride’s hometown of Annapolis, Maryland. When they asked if I’d be willing to do the engagement session in Philly so they could document their time in the city, I said of course!

It had been a while since I’d been to Philadelphia. Although my family and I lived just across the river in New Jersey for a few years. I was in high school, and I remember hearing about all the concerts at the Electric Factory that I had no way of seeing. Now, several years later, I could go to those concerts. But of course I don’t want to.

Now back to the engagement session. After talking to the couple we got some ideas of their local neighborhood and favorite restaurants. So we started there. However, I definitely spent several hours on the internet looking for iconic spots around Philadelphia. More than enough spots popped up, so we had to narrow down the locations.

Since Philadelphia was the original capital of the United States, there are several historical sites. Architecture being my favorite background for photos, we were in heaven. This reminds me of how much I love this job for taking me to the best spots in the world. Not only the best spots but at the best timing of the day also. Fortunately, since we picked a weekday we didn’t run into a single tourist.
